Does Levothyroxine lower my T4FREE? although My Tsh Is Normal
Hi everyone i just got my thyroid results
and my T4 FREE IS HIgh,at 1.28 however my TSH is 0.898
would my levothyroixe lower this T4 level too? after i switched to levothyroxine my TSH has been at the same levels, but I guess my other levels are messing up.
I have been feeling sick this week, and very cold.. dizzy too can it be related to this?

You need your FT3 tested or at the minimum your T3 levels tested. If your FT4 is HIGH then you are hyperT in your T4 concentration. But you are complaining of being hypoT this can be the result of imbalanced hormone levels that have you hypoT in Ft3 and hyperT in FT4. The resulting treatment is to determine why you are low in T3 and then correct the issue. With T3 supplementation and more if required.
If your MD is only monitoring TSH and FT4 then you are not getting thorough treatment and a secondary aggravant such as poor T4 to T3 conversion as a result of high cortisol or conversion dysfunction is just going to cause you angst. Two out of three people need some T3 in addition to T4 to optimize. Look at my thyroid care and concerns for an extensive coverage of thyroid management basics.

Dito on Mauz unless your range is really strange you are just getting into the optimal range for T4 levels. However you still need to know your T3 levels and make sure they are balanced.

We need the range. For example:
FT4 (Free T4) 1.28 (0.8-1.8) = [1.28-0.8]/[1.8-0.8]*100 = 48% This would be sub optimal by just a tad. OPtimal range is 60-80% for women of childbearing age and 40-75% for women after menopause.

No, Levothyroxine will not lower t4 free levels b/c levothyroxine is t4 ..
Levothyroxine supresses TSH and increases t4 in the system.
Going by the ranges Ive seen your T4 is not high, but all labs are different. Was it flagged ?
Generally people start feeling well when their FREE LEVELS are in mid range..
