I was diagnosed with Hashimotos after I had a miscarriage in December. I went to an endo and he started me on synthroid and I was told not to get pregnant for three months. Well, exactly 3 months later, I got pregnant. I have been on synthroid since, and I now know that my pregnancy is going great. I had an ultrasound at 7 wks and again today at 9wks. The baby over doubled in size, and everything is wonderful. I go back for blood work in 2 months and my endo will see if my meds need to be changed. I never knew how important the thyroid is for pregnancy, but it is so important!

I am so glad that you are doing well. Your OB should be checking your Fts every four weeks until you have hit 12 weeks. If you need more synthroid for you and the child it is the first 12 weeks that are the most essential. Don't let it slide.

You are doing great and I will be praying for you and the little one. Keep us posted! Good news and new bundles of joy always lighten the heart.

My endo told me that the thyroid speeds up during the first trimester, then slows down. He said he will probably boost my synthroid at the next appointment, even if I didnt need it.
