VERY frustrated - rant mail

I am fed up of going to the best endocrinologists, neurologists and now gynaecologists. No one is really helping but I know something is going on..
Don't even know if I belong on this board but am ranting anyways.. I think I have lost it and am going insane and the thing is I don't even care.
I am having those dizzy spells again .. Can't keep my eyes open... strangely 2 weeks ago I couldn't sleep at night.
I quit on my current endo and have an appt on June 2nd with another dude in the Houston medical center and I don't even think he is going to help.
Last Sunday night I overdosed on presciption cough syrup.. (by mistake) .. kiddo wouldn't sleep coz of coughing.. and at 3:00 am I got lazy to get a spoon and half dazed I poured some directly into my mouth. I slept all of Monday and am on a sleepy spell again today. Feel like I can't go on anymore.. Feel like I've done everything I can and there is no hope for me anywhere and anyhow.

Have developed a cyst on the darn ovary and then there are those in the breast.. and it seems to ache .. maybe I have gone mad and it is not pain and only psychological.. my family is surely helping me go mad.
Don't know when my boss will run out of patience with me and give me the go to leave..

Re: VERY frustrated - rant mail

Rant away. I am SO sorry that this is going on. Have they been doing thorough blood work? Or have you been fighting for every inch toward an answer. I will look into more of your past posts and see what I can dig up. Try and be more careful. Focus on your boy and try and detach yourself from the pain and against. It helps me to focus on the joy and good feeling in others. I wish I could help more at this time.

Re: VERY frustrated - rant mail

Actuall with the GP I haven't had issue getting tests ordered but he won't order the same tests again if the old ones came out ok..
From my labwork he thinks I am halethy individual and the only thing he says is the thyroid may fails sometime soon, but right now it is great.
They've checked B12 and Ca and Iron etc and those are all good.. no one can help me understand why the weight loss and inability to gain.. neuropathy... dizzy spells.. the raynauds in 2 fingers .. sudden occurance of cysts...
My old endo would not check me for Ca, FErritin and all so I dumped him coz he wanted me to go a rheumatologist to check for those and I wasn't doing that.
I get prescirptoins for anti-depressants and neuropathy medicine but I know that is not the problem.

I should add I am also irregularly monitoring my sugar levels..
Fasting is between 85-95.. Post lunch and Breakfast ~100 and the post dinner ones are generally the highest .. closer to 120

Dream77, who is the physician you will be seeing in June? I'll see if I have heard anything about him/her.

Re: VERY frustrated - rant mail

So you have an ovarian cyst and fibrocystic disease of the breast? Or are your cysts of another type?

Have you been to an ENT or a sleep specialist?

Ovarian cysts are known to cause if you're having symptoms such as pain, bloating, feeling full after eating just a little, and constipation.

You aren't on any infertility drugs are you? Have you been on any? Clomid, Serophene, and Milophene and others in the class are known to cause the same side effects and cyst developement as you are experiencing. Now I am just tossing out stuff that I have dug up.

What are all the medications that you are on? Raynaud's is known to react poorly to certain medications and supplements. Higher progesterone BCs for instance or progesterone creams. I am sure your OB would have caught it though.

What about your adrenal function? If your androgens and aldosterone and cortisol are off.. heck if any are off it can cause an issue.

I am still looking.

Re: VERY frustrated - rant mail

Thanks MKGm
the 2 fibroids in the uterus are 1 cm diame and the 1 cyst on the ovary is a little over 1 cm.
THe ones in the breast are supposedly of no significance and fluid filled and need to be watched. THats what they say but no one has wanted to relate the findings and checked estrigen/progesteron levels.
I don't think anyone has looked at adrenal function.

I''ve never been on any "PILLS" or been on those fertility drugs.

Re: VERY frustrated - rant mail

Humm.. you may want to go to the Rheumy and get a confirmation for the Raynauds.. in the process get him/her to check the adrenals or your GP to run the gammut there. Adrenals can cause many things and if it isn't the thyroid.. adrenals are the next logical choice. Too much estrogen/progesterone can be a bad thing.. and the adrenals are key in that function as well. I would go back to the GP and push for hormonal testing. If the OB didn't do it.. humm.. I would be finding another.. especially with the uterian and ovary cysts. That smacks of estrogen/progesterone fluxing.

Re: VERY frustrated - rant mail

thanks..
I've been to 2 rheumis.. 1 termed everything as depression and the other said it was Ca- vit D deficeincy and sometimes there isn't a reason ffor things and raynauds in 2 fungers was Xtremely rare so thee must be something wrong with me mentally... (funny) She told me to take ca and Mg and vit D.
With the summer started the raynauds has been of lower significance lately.
But the other things.. no one knows.
I plan to go back to my GP. I am tired of excusing myself from work for Dr appt (my boss is nice and says ..no problem) but my career is so much on hold.. .everything is and I can't seem to just recover completely since the pregnancy.
Thanks for your support

Re: VERY frustrated - rant mail

Good luck. Let me know what you two work out. Pregnancy and thyroid failure do do a number to our bodies. I haven't been right since my pregnancy. My immune system went into attack and destroy everything mode. *snort* At least I don't get colds and viruses easily. I am wishing you the best of care.

Re: VERY frustrated - rant mail

I was doing some reading on adrenal insufficiency and my symptoms fit so nicely in addition to the inability to sleep 6-7 hrs straight.. I even wake up every day like an alarm clock at 1.30 am feeling hot and have to go and turn down the temperature etc.
Oh no.. I don't want to be on steroids for the rest of my life.. but I got to hold on and wait for diagnosis before starting to worry on that.

Re: VERY frustrated - rant mail

I know I don't want to be on steriods for life either.. but I am. My AI conditions are spreading like KUDZOO! The steriodal dose is 20 mg of hydrocortisone taken in increments of 5 mg 4 x daily before 6 pm. Take HC after 6 and you are wired til the wee hours of the morning. HC is 1/5 the strength of prednisone and the amount you take is just what your body is going to use. It is what the adrenal glands would produce if they could. That amount won't make you fat and may make you feel alive again... if you are adrenal insufficient.

Testing:
ACTH and cortisol and aldosterone - blood, fasting, 8 am.
24 hour cortisol rhythm test - I used saliva.
Aldosterone and renin tests are not valid if you are taking an estrogen supplement.
The autoimmune killer of the adrenals is ACA (Adrenal Cortex Antibodies)
You can also look down the adrenal chain at DHEA, Estroidil (sp), Testosterone, pregnonolone(sp) to see if any of these are low as well.

But I would get the ACA, ACTH, and cortisol tests before going down this road further.

Re: VERY frustrated - rant mail

Thank you.. you are wonderful.
I think I have got an ACTH test a few months ago (at that time I knew nothing about this and my symptoms were very different) .. I will post those results (later tonite) and have already called the endo to be put on a cancellation list if I can see him before June 2 .. If not I will wait for this period to get over and then see the GP... (he generally wants a urine test when I complain of back ache and my lower sides have been aching forever)

Re: VERY frustrated - rant mail

went to the gp..
he is running all the blood work again but wud not run the ATCH and other adrenal specific tests.. he said the electrolytes would look messed up for me if it s an adrenal issue.
he has done a lower back xray and ordered urine analysis...
