Amino Acids supplement, good for both hypo and hyper?

Hi,

I heard that a good mix of Amino Acids supplement is good for both hypo and hyper. I take whey protien to help with my weak shoulders and help me building muscles. Anyway, my dr told me that Amino Acids supplement would effects the blood test. Is that true?
I have had my thyroid blood test checked like 6 times in the last few years, and I haven't been using any amino acids before. I just started taking it, should I continue?
my dr told me to wait 6 Month after my last dose of Amino Acids supplement, if I want to have the blood tests.
Why should I wait that long???
Also I have read somewhere that amino acids are useful for both hypo and hyper???
Thanks,
Michael

Re: Amino Acids supplement, good for both hypo and hyper?

I've never heard of them affecting thyroid blood tests, but it does make sense. Some amino acids help the body produce more hormones such as estrogen and growth hormones. Women who have had estrogen producing cancers such as breast cancer are not supposed to have L-anginine for this reason. And I do know your hormones do effect your thyroid hormones. I think it affects the amt of dosage.

There is a post over on ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE titled "too much amino acids?" that is interesting. Go to home page of Thyroid Disorders and at the top of page "click" on search. Type in "L-Arginine" and it will carry you to all posts containing "L-Arginine" and look for the post titled "too much amino acids?" Interesting.
