HI There, That is a good question...i need the same answer as you. I just bought some from Target and heard that they are a good natural way of dealing with the thyroid vs. thyroid meds. I didn't have any luck with methimazole so I want to find a more natural approach...lemme know if you hear of anything...
I think taking it the morning with your other meds is fine (unless it says to take the selenium with food).
Also, the thyoid needs adequate iodine, so use a table salt that contains iodine (I like sea salt w/ iodine).
Thyroid hormones also need an adequate iron level to work properly. If your iron level is low, get it up. But don't take more than 100% of the RDA of iron unless you know you need it & dont take iron within 4 hours of thyroid meds.
25 years feeling worse every year on Synthroid & 13 months feel good on Armour Thyroid.
Selenium may interfere with absorption like Fe and other minerals. It is better to take it with lunch or dinner and make sure that it has time to get into your system and be ready to utilize and work with your thyroid supplement. I take mine at bedtime so it is ready and waiting in my system to help handle the T4 influx.
If we learn by our mistakes, I am working on one hell of an education.
Well it does hve yeast, and it does say to take it with food.
I started taking it with my lunch, because I wanted to be on the safe side, and not have it interfere with my thryoid meds.... but today I forgot! argh.
So I guess I'll take it with dinner and go that route.
