Question how to take armour?

I take my synthroid first thing and eat breakfast one hour later. I also wait 4 hours before taking any vitamins or calcium to not interfere with the absorption.

I'm hoping to find a doc who will prescribe Armour thyroid and i was wondering if the directions are the same.....2 hours after eating and 1 hour before eating. If i do take it twice per day ie. 1/2 grain first thing and 1/2 grain after lunch, do i need to wait 2 hours after lunch before i can take it?

Also do vitamins and minerals interfere with the absorption of armour as well?

Thanks.

Re: how to take armour?

I take my Armour Thyroid sublingually & take it twice a day (first thing in the morning and then about 4-6 hours later).

When taken sublingually (since it does not go into the stomach) , you can eat right after it disolves and take meds anytime.

Re: how to take armour?

I like simplicity, so I take mine once in the a.m., on an empty stomach an hour before eating. I swallow it. I tried it sublingually just once; couldn't stand either the taste or the 'sludge' that remained under my tongue for way too long. I once asked my MD whether the sublingual method is better. He said that most of the tablet still gets swallowed anyway, so it doesn't really matter. He's a homeopathic MD, and if you don't know, homeopathic meds are taken sublingually... so it isn't as if he doesn't have some knowledge about the subject.
