Hi all! I just saw my specialist again last week. Ultrasound showed that nodule on right lobe had increased from 2cm to 2.9cm in the past 8months. He said it seemed to be fluid filled and almost certain to be benign! No biopsy done.My TSH is 1.034. I went to him because of difficulty swallowing in recent months.Feels like my mouth is very dry and have to 'gulp' to swallow and think I'm going to choke when I'm eating. He prefers not to do surgery but if I still have problems in a few weeks and phone him,he will do it.

My questions are:
1.Would you recommend surgery or to 'wait and see' (Swallowing difficulty is the only thing thats bothering me.)

2.Could the PPI's I'm taking for gastritis (stomach acid) be causing my dry mouth and difficulty swallowing or is this wishful thinking on my part? Anything rather than surgery!!

Would really appreciate your opinion.

Before surgery I would get a fna done, and figure it out from there.

Hopefuldoll, I can't imagine how uncomfortable a nodule/cyst at 2.9cm would be. Mine's only 7mm and I'm having symptoms. If mine was that size I would want a biopsy or FNA done for sure. I've always had a very dry mouth so I wouldn't know what could be causing yours. (it's very frustrating because that means more trips to the bathroom during the night also) I hope you get results from your doc. quickly(the waiting is torture) good luck and I hope you have a good outcome.
