Getting nervous about switching to Armour
i just borrowed a book "the thyroid solution" by dr. ridha arem, and i was reading about dessicated thyroid.
i'm supposed to be switching next week when i see my naturopath. i've been ambivalent for a long time about trying it, but finally sick of not feeling well even with t4 med increases so i finally got my mind set on it. now i'm starting to get anxious all over again, because i read an excerpt from the book...
he says of dessicated thyroid such as armour, that "it is natural and provides both thyroid hormones but not in a composition close enough to the human chemicals to achieve stable levels." and that dessicated thyroid "results in abnormal surges of t3 levels in the bloodstream." and that it "puts patients at risk for bone loss."
i know this is just one professional's opinion, but i'm just so darn antsy about having a bad experience with medication that it's enough to make me question if armour is such a good idea. i've been so darn indecisive lately that it's driving me nuts!!
can anyone contradict what the doctor claims, or have any supportive information or thoughts about this? thanks!
