Iodine Test Question

I think it was on this board I saw it but now cannot find it. Did someone say how to find out if you are iodine-deficient, that you put iodine on your skin and something about waiting a certain amount of hours to see if your body absorbed it. I wanted to try it just to see what would happen but now I can't find the post with the details. Anyone? Thanks

Smile Re: Iodine Test Question

Hi! I was told that was a good way by a Nutritionist/Chiropractic Doctor. I tried it and it disappeared in a few hours. she said mark a small area on your body and fill it with the old iodine we put on our cuts when we were kids ( if you are old enough to remember). If it is gone in 24 hours you are deficient. Mine was gone in several hours... but I am waiting to work with a doctor/endo before jumping into iodine. It must be started slowly or you can go into hyperthyroidism... so I have read.
