Hi,
Without saying the name, does anyone know if the chicago based company still exist for thyroid home kits?

Re: Question about home kits

oh, i dont know. i know there is one in kent, WA where you dont need a practitioner to order the tests.

there is one in beaverton, OR and asheville NC and san diego CA but those all need a licensed practitioner to order the tests.

hope that helps

Re: Question about home kits

You need to also notice if the one you're considering is FDA approved.

Diabetics can test their blood so easily these days with their own meter. Wouldn't it be nice if there could be one for thyroid too?

Has anyone heard of a dipstick test? It came up once in search results I forgot to save, and never came up again.

Re: Question about home kits

Thanks for the reply. Here's hoping.

If we mentioned it to the people that make our diabetes meters, might they come up with something? Maybe they just never thought of it? I bet there would be a huge market, judging by how large this forum is.

Re: Question about home kits

i wonder if it is more complicated than blood sugar. blood sugar might be a simple read in the blood. perhaps the free t's are harder for a simple test to measure?

HEY i got a good idea. next time we go for bloodwork, lets ask our phlebotomists what the process is and if it could be duplicated like a home diabetes test.

I'm planning to at least ask.
