i was wondering if people here felt strongly about goitrogenic foods. do they really affect our troubled thyroids adversely?
only recently and by a total fluke did i read that flax seeds are goitrogenic. i've been trying to raise my HDL and help my poor, dear dry eye problem by scarfing down ground flax seeds every day. i had no idea they were goitrogenic.
is our concern about goitrogenic foods overkill or does it really make a difference?
From everything I have read and discussed with medical experts...NO these foods are very unlikely to cause problems for people with thyroid problems. You would have to eat HUGE quantities before it became problematic.
