Discomfort in Neck After Surgery
I had the right side of my thyroid removed about 2 1/2 weeks ago along with a toxic nodule. All went well and I'm on the road to recovery. Thank you to everyone's thoughts on this message board before my surgery. One more question. Right now I am experiencing a new feeling in my neck on the right side above the incision. It's sort of a tightness/full feeling...hard to explain...but just odd and borders on uncomfortable. I went back to work last Wed. (1/2 days) I talk A LOT for my job and this feeling started when I started talking more at my job than I did while I was at home. I'm thinking this is probably normal and part of the healing process. Just wondering if anyone has experienced the same feeling or has any thoughts to share. Thanks

I'm glad to hear everything went well for you. Just as a precaution, since this is a new feeling for you, you maybe should call your surgeon and explain this to them.

My guess is that it is post surgery swelling. I had a right side PT the first part of May. Every once in awhile I still get weird feelings in my neck. I just think it takes that area awhile to heal after all the poking and prodding that goes on during surgery.
