Having a TT this morning

Well I finally have found a Dr. who knows what they are doing. She has adjusted my med. some and I feel 1000% better, but today the thyroid is going! I'm assuming we will have to start adjusting the meds all over again, but I'm confidant that she will get it right.

Wish me luck!

Re: Having a TT this morning

Surgery went well. Out of hospital the next day. Dr. said there were two nodules, the largest was just under 4cm. he found (and saved) 3 parathyroids, and so my calcium has been above 8 since surgery. He has me on Calcium, Vit. D, 150mcg Levoxyl, and said he will be adding Cytomel. I'm having just a little dull pain but haven't taken any meds for pain. The Nodules were sent to pathology and I am waiting for the results. So far so good.

Re: Having a TT this morning

Glad to hear you are doing well. I may be having TT soon. Did you have TT because the nodule(s) was malignant ,or just large and benign?
It's encouraging to hear you are doing so well so quickly.
Good Luck!

Re: Having a TT this morning

The nodules were large and unknown. The Dr. said as long as they are taking out the thyroid there's no reason to do a biopsy and possibly get a false negative. So I'm still waiting to see if it's benign.

I love good news! Congratulations and best wishes on a pain in the neck free life style and recovery. You may have some swelling irritation in the next week that begins to show today or the next. Ice packs for your throat make a BIG difference. Keep us posted and it sounds like you have a good MD there.
