Thyroid Problems?

So I think I may have problems with my Thyroid but I am not sure. I have been reading online about some of the ways I should be feeling and some of the problems that I would have. And a lot are how I have been feeling. I have in the past 2 years packed on about 70 pounds at first I thought it was just that I was gaining a few since I was not eating very healthy at all, but I started eating smaller portions and have been doing some exercise. But it is s hard for me to workout cause I just lose the energy so quickly and just can't keep on going. Now I need to get things checked out what kind of doctor would I see. Would I go to a specialist or would I just go to my family doctor? I have asked my family doctor before about my gaining weight and he always tells me just to workout and eat properly and doesnt really go over anything with me. So I just feeling flustered if I should even go to my regular family doctor or if I should maybe go to my boyfriends doctor and see what he says. Tell what you think and any insight on symptoms that you have had would be great as well.
Thanks Again,

Re: Thyroid Problems?

You can always ask him to do a thyroid blood test.( just simple blood sample)...make sure to ask for your FT4, T3 and TSH once you get result ...then you can go to the next step depending on waht results are. I was diagonose by my regular family doc then saw a specialist after diagnoses
