Question Hypothyroidism - TSH over 100?

Hi. I am wondering if someone can tell me what is the "dangerous" level of TSH. In May 2008, my level was 71.46, in June 2008 it was 0.8, and in August 2008 it just says it's over 100 without any details (how high could it actually be???). How serious is this, aside from the usual symptoms? Can anything come out of it? I am finally getting referred to a specialist... and as I read in some of the other posts, I never got tested on FT3 and FT4... that doesn't show up on any of my results...

In addition to hypothyroidism, however, my Hemoglobin is low (99) as well as my Ferritin (<5).

Any real real dangers? Thanks for your answer.

Layla

Re: Hypothyroidism

Layla, it seems sufferers have the same symptoms regardless of whether their TSH is 5 or 105 or 500, they can feel equally awful. That being said, it is time to get it under control. I don't think there is any immediate physical danger. Sadly, there are those who go for years without being properly diagnosed. I think the real danger is how the symptoms affect a sufferer mentally and physically. Have you started replacement therapy yet?
