Does it matter when you take it?

I'm on synthroid, just got an email saying coffee interferes w/it. Does anyone take it at night, hate to give up my morning coffee.

Re: Does it matter when you take it?

Gram, if you're like me, waking up in the middle of the night? that's when I take my meds. That way I know there are no "interactions" and by morning I can eat/drink anything I want. Just a suggestion

Re: Does it matter when you take it?

I drink coffee with a small amount of non-dairy creamer immediately after I take my med. It hasn't interfered yet.

Re: Does it matter when you take it?

I can try that since I do wake up during night to go to the bathroom. I am addicted to the Amarreto creamer in my coffee so I guess the other suggestion won't work. Thanks you two!

Re: Does it matter when you take it?

Gram4, that is a very good question! Adjusting to having to take levo every morning is a trick! I try to wait before I drink anything but some mornings I just need my diet dew...not sure if that is a good thing or not!!

I have a coworker who has been synthorid for years and when I was telling her about how I wait to eat and how I can't take vitamins within four hours she was shocked she said that no one had ever told her that. She takes all six of her pills at one time in the morning...she doesn't seem to have any troubles. So hopefully in the end a little coffee or pop won't interfer too much!
