Adrenal issues

need some advice here.
In addition to my hypothyroidsim, I have adrenal issues (non addisons)
If I want to test my cortisol again via saliva test do I have to be off my asthma inhaler for awhile? The asthma inhailer is half corticosteriod and half anti-inflamatory.
thanks

Re: Adrenal issues

Wow, that's a hard call. Rule of thumb is, to get accurate test results you need to off any steroids for two weeks prior to testing. But, you certainly don't want to jeopardize your health in regards to your asthma. If you need you inhaler on a daily basis I don't see a way around it. Maybe someone else will come along with some input.

I'm hypo with adrenal problems, I feel for you.

Re: Adrenal issues

It's such an interesting question, I'll bump it up again for this Monday morning. I use an inhaler too so I'm interested. Good luck.

Editing to ask, does using some OTC Vicks Vaporub help you at all? I used it for a while before latest testing. And thanks to Deb for the info "two weeks". I didn't know how long to do that.

This is ragweed season, also goldenrod, I learned from my allergist/immunologist last week.
