YAY! TT in October! When will Hashis subside after TT?

Hey Everybody, What have your experiences been with Hashi relief after your thyroidectomies? I realize it is different for everone but I'd like to get some stories so I have something to look forward to. Thanks, this board and all of you have answered so many questions and concerns this past year. I am glad to have found you.

Re: YAY! TT in October! When will Hashis subside after TT?

Hi Lesarosi

I had a TT almost 2 years ago due to a multi nodular goiter and found out afterwards that I also had Hashi.

Possibly the reason you havent had so many replies is that it sounds as though you're expecting everything to be brilliant afterwards...sorry to say...but for me that really hasnt been the case (for some it is though I'm sure). I'm still not regulated on meds after this long and am shortly going to be moving across to Armour from T4 only meds.

The symptoms of Hashi are basically Hypo (although you do get Hyper outbursts too I know) and when you have your TT you will be HypoT for life so it just takes time to get things straight.

fingers crossed for you that you have a smooth journey getting stabilised afterwards

Even though I'm still struggling a bit - I'm still glad to have my thyroid gone
