Re: Cow patty right here...please help me

Sounds good Wonder. Let me know how the initial consult goes with the nurse. I go back to my IM for a level check and to look into the possibility I may have PCOS and insulin resistance. What fun. My Endo was a bust. He ignored my highs and lows and said keep taking my meds and see him in six months. *snort, visualizes a certain Endo floating in the toilet... FLUSH* Another one down the drain. You just have to keep looking for the good ones. I had a bit of hope he might be good. BUT he wasn't. Oh well back to my few diamonds in the rough. I just need to educate them on the endo stuff.

Suey,

Ferrous Sulfate is legendary for stopping up the back door. You only absorb about 25% of it.. the rest gets flushed down the drain literally. I bet the iron in the prenatals is not ferrous sulfate. They are careful about not backing up pregnant women.

Re: Cow patty right here...please help me

MG,
From what I understand many that have PCOS have insulin resistance too...kinda go hand-in-hand. Good luck on with that. A lot of time docs just want to hand out Clomid instead of treating the underlying problem...I guess maybe they want to boost their success rating in people getting pg or something. A couple of my neighbors were on it at the same time.

Re: Cow patty right here...please help me

My Sis-in-law is a top notch OB. I run all the reproductive mess by her. SHe hasn't steered me wrong yet. I know all to well how MDs like to toss pills at you with out finding the source of your issues. It is sickening. One would think it would be easier to treat the source of a problem than the 20 some odd symptoms that result from it. Like hypothyroidism... just treat it already versus sending the patient to 10 different specialists to manage the symptoms left by under treatment.

Re: Cow patty right here...please help me

I know exactly what you mean... I had two docs wanting to give me Wellbutrin saying I was depressed. I am not depressed (although I know it goes along with this whole mess). I told them they WERE ON THEIR WAY TO MAKING ME DEPRESSED for NOT TREATING ME...that I was not depressed just horribly fatigued! The nurse that I had been seeing at my fp who was treating me with the Synthroid wanted to give me Provigil (sp?) the other day to help me with my fatigue. I said no to the Wellbutrin and no to the Provigil. I think that those are band-aid fixes.
