I am in Allen and looking for an Endo in my area. Or between Euless and Allen. Do you have one you can recommend? I'm having a TT Oct 27. I have a surgeon and I need someone to care for me afterward. I hope you are doing well. thanks, Lesa

Re: I am in Allen, Texas and looking for an Endo in my area.

Howdy, neighbor! I am not sure about an endo in the area, as I have never seen one. Dr. Stephanie Elmore, or any of the PAs in her clinic in Irving are fantastic. This is where I have been going for 12 years, and being treated for my hypothyroidism for 8 1/2.

I have a friend in Allen who is also looking for a doc. Most of the local thyroid support groups all over the US keep lists of doctors and info on how they treat patients. You might have luck doing a web search for local thyroid support groups in Texas. There has been at least one in the DFW area for nearly as long as I have been being treated.

Even if you pick a doc off of a list that others have had great luck with, your experience might be entirely different. As an example, my doc gets good reviews, but some have said they had problems with the office staff. My experience is that I have always been treated like gold, and even if I am a away for a year, I still get greeted warmly by first name--again, your mileage may vary.

Here's a post from nearly seven years ago, that has great advice on choosing a doctor:
