Question Hi everyone... Question about eczema and low thyroid?

Could eczema be a symptom of low thyroid? I have other symptoms, but I was wondering if this is one more? I have been off and on here inquiring about low thyroid for over a year. My TSH was 2.75 so my doctor does not even consider that I am low. I Know I will have to seek another opinion. MK talked to me (wrote to me) and felt as though I could be low at one point after I gave other test results such as T3, T4, etc.

I am just getting tired of being tired, and now I have eczema and wondered if this is yet another possible symptom? Right now, my temp is 97.0. It was 96.5 when I woke up this morning. Just exasperated.

Thank you so much.
Tricia

Dry skin is certainly a symptom, and itchy dry skin is something I experience when my levels are off, and and is often one of the first indicators I have to go by, personally.

Re: Hi everyone... Question about eczema and low thyroid?

My dermatologist believes so. When no one would give me thyroid medication, he did his best to treat and control my skin issues with creams and a mild antibiotic/steriod regime. I have Hashi's and Graves as well as being hypothyroid. The treatment that worked the best was a combination exzyma and rosecea treatment. I have to use elidel and two other steriodal creams on my body twice daily and metrogel on my face once daily. Threating my low thyroid hormones with supplementation improved my skin issues 10+ fold. Exzyma is another autoimmune condition and when you have one AI you are at a higher risk for other AIs.
