I'm becoming...mush

I am slowly sliding downward. I started the 60mg (1gr) of Armour on Saturday from being on 100mcg of Synthroid alone. Yesterday evening, I felt pretty good, actually hoping maybe *this was it*. Today throughout the day from the time I got up it has just gone downhill. I am so freakin tired. I guess it is b/c the T4 I had from the Synthroid is slowly leaving my body. Maybe I should ask him to add a little Synthroid? Any takers on how much I should ask for if I do? I was debating 37.5 or 50 mcg.

You know my take. I recommended halving your T4 to 50 and taking a grain of Armour initially. Do you have 75 mcg tabs to cut in half? If not adding 50 mcgs in the morning would be the easiest adjustment. Make sure you call your MD and ask to add 50 mcgs BEFORE implementing it. I am certain he would be fine with it. The other option is moving to 1.5 grains of Armour now. Your MD did want you to start there right?

If we learn by our mistakes, I am working on one hell of an education.

Re: I'm becoming...mush

I know....I have 100's I could cut to 50. So 50 T4 + the 1 grain of armour would equal 88 of t4 and 9 of T3. I was looking at the last tests where I had been on just 88 of Synthroid.
That was back in June.
My T3 was 324 (230-420) 49.5%
T4 was 1.4 (.8-1.8) 60%
TSH was 2.0

Sound to me that adding the 50 of t4 might be the key. I am so scared of being either hyper or hypo. Feeling decent for those couple of hours on Sunday was nice. But it was kind of felt like having it slip through my fingers if you know what I mean. I was bawling my eyes out last night and in my desperation left a message on their answering machine. Hopefully he's used to dealing with my type since he deals with hormonal issues. I won't do anything until I talk to his office. I've been a little concerned about the Armour shortage, too. I talked to a pharmacist friend of mine who said that I shouldn't worry. I was scared that they were going to discontinue it and I just started the dang stuff! I am thinking that even if Forest were to stop making it, it has been around so long some other company would pick it up.

Re: I'm becoming...mush

Yes, my doc had initally said 1.5 gr armour or 100 synthroid and 5 of cytomel. The 1.5 gr of armour has 57 t4 and 13.5 t3. I am thinking that dosage would be too little t4 and too much t3 considering the labs when I was at just 88mcg of Synthroid. Argh! What do you think, add 50 to the 1 grain or go to 1.5 gr?
