Basically it means that you are hypothyroid. What did your labs say? (numbers please ) Are you having any symptoms?

TSH is your bodies mechanism for requesting that your thyroid produce more T4. So a high TSH means your body wants more T4, but apparently your thyroid isn't producing enough. You may need to supplement T4 and or T3 or there may be other issues. Only your labs will tell for sure.

My TSH is 9.08 and my FREE T4 is .97. I have mood swings hot flashes. Some of it may be due to Menopause.

Well you definetely need thyroid replacement - no question about that. I believe many people experience for example mood swings when (even mildly) HypoT. Then there are very often "these small things" you have but don't see them as symptoms until they start to subside when medication kicks in. Make sure you are heard
