Re: does low free t3 and high reverse t3 mean anything

Yes... it means that you are not converting your T4 to T3 efficiently. Excessive amounts of RT3 in your system will actually block the cells, making the FT3 in your blood ineffective as it cant access the cells it needs to

Re: does low free t3 and high reverse t3 mean anything

I have a question pertaining to the same thing. I also have low free t3 and high reverse t 3. I have hashis and my antibodies are high at 150. I take selenium to lower them but they never get low enough. I am not feeling well and ia am starting to have swollen legs and ankles again along with broken nails dry skin etc. My fatigue is also bad. Last year a doc had me on a t4 t3 compound similar to Armour and I was fine. So, why is that? I should be better on this reverse t3 thing right?
Oh, I also keep my tsh suppressed as much as I need to to feel normal. But lately, I am carrying water weight and having the same issues I always get when my thyroid is not treated properly.

So, what is it? Is the not enough reverse t3? I'm taking 50 mcg, or is it that I need more reverse t3? or is it something else?

Also, my calcium levels are too high and I'm going for testing to see if I have hyperparathyroidism. My hair is falling out, I can't lose weight, I'm tired, etc.

Any ideas or help?

Thank you.

Greyzak
