switching from levoxothyrine to Synthroid

Hi,

I'm newly diagnosed hypothyroid and have been on 25mcg of levoxothyrine for 6 weeks. After my blood test this week, TSH was 4, (he did run a T3 and T4, but he was waiting on those results) and I still don't feel well, so he upped it to 50 mcg. I had alot of side effects when starting the generic (heart palps being the worst), so he switched me to regular Synthroid not generic.

Will I notice any difference? I'm worried about the higher dose and palps, will the brand change be better, and can I split the dose for the first week or so to see if it gives me palps?

Thanks in advance
