Could synthroid really work this quickly?

I'm on day 2 of 25 micrograms of synthroid and I actually think I feel improved. Is it just psychological or could it actually be making me feel better? My TSH was 2 and my T4 was in normal range (but high TPO antibodies). Although I feel tired, I don't feel "dragging my butt" tired...just normal tired if that makes sense. My head actually feels clear.

Re: Could synthroid really work this quickly?

I felt the exact same way the first 4 days on synthroid. On the fifth day I felt worse than I have in a very long time(ie. I slept most of the day and through the night). I have been on it for two weeks now and am feeling better again, but not as drastically better as I did the first couple of days. Hope I can feel that good again soon, it was such a nice change.

Re: Could synthroid really work this quickly?

Ya, I started the synthroid just as I was entering a "good" swing, so I'm curious to see how I feel when I'm in an "inflammatory" phase. I usually get about a week or so until the bad phase, so I'll just try to enjoy it . Hopefully it never happens?

I have heard here and from my endo that your body will plateau 6 weeks after starting a new dosage. Sorry to say- but- my guess is that you are not feeling better from your meds - yet.
Are you scheduled to have a blood test in six weeks?
