This past week I've developed cracks in the corners of my mouth. I looked it up and saw one of the causes is low iron and B12, which makes sense since my thyroid has been too low for over a year. I'm still waiting on lab results of the iron and B12.
Have any of you had this happen though? If so, did it go away when your thyroid, iron and B12 levels went up again? Is there another way of treating it?
Yes! I get that and I had read that it is a sign of B12 deficiency. I had my B12 tested and it is 320 (211-911) but it has dropped from slightly over 500. The last time I got the edge of mouth sores it was at 324. In Japan, they like the level to be at least 500-550. My Endo says my B12 levels are good but I think otherwise. I have currently just started 5mg sublingual B12 tablets along with a lot of other vitamins. My ferritin is also low at 20 and Vitamin D is low at 24. I have also read that a B12 deficiency causes premature gray hair!
