May just be a good idea, since there is soo much information and the subject matter does concern real individuals that are suffering--with real symptoms and many ways to relieve them. Hey, they might learn something!
I can't believe the amount of suffering my daughter has gone thru because of her doctors' ignorance
to investigate or plain ole failure
to educate herself about this.
My daughter repeatedly
told the doctor - upon my urging - all that was troubling her. To only be handed a blood test and adjustment of levothyroxine aftwards, and sent home.
Her PCP NEVER
checked vitamin levels, ferritin (even when daughter was anemic), other hormones, other thyroid hormone levels/tests, etc. Zip.
Never concerned herself with my daughter's failing immune system even though my daughter spent many afternoons in the ER with what was to be eventually discovered as mono. She was put on steroids to help her lungs heal since the virus attacked her lungs. She sounded terrible. She would fall asleep on the phone talking to me. I worry now she may even have LYME.
Two years my daughter suffered needlessly. Her PCP was quick to write her a prescription for Welbutrin THAT didn't. help. at. all. While trying to find a new place to live, go thru a separation, a divorce, juggle university and working and having to send her only friend-- her poodle of 8 years -- back home to parents to live, 900 miles away from family and close friends.
I seem to have lost much faith in everything medical. (I had suggested a woman for my daughter since most women aren't rabid golfers and just might take more time - but I didn't consider maternity leave).
Thank you for allowing me to vent.
