Newly Diagnosed

I was diagnosed about 3 months ago. I have been seriously ill, lost alot of weight, unable to walk any distance. I am on medication, but it is still not sorted. I now find that i have little taste, could this be side effects of having an over active thyroid or the medication. I will be grateful for any advice.
