I have a problem with taking supplements. At noon I take the
multivitamins which are iodine and iron free. And I have to supplement
iron in addition. Due to the small amount of calcium and other
substances in multivitamins, iron could interact with it if taking at
the same time, right? and I think it is not recommended to take iron
after the supper. Morning is occupied by thyroid meds, noon by the
multivitamins/fish oil (omega 3-6-9)/Vit C/Vit Bs, and evening is not
fit for taking supplements for the stomache and the body are at rest. So
when can I take the iron?
And I just read about one can take magnesium with thyroid meds in the
morning. I assumed that thyroid meds can not be taken along with any
other supplements. Any ideas?
What if you take your iron about 2 hours after thyroid meds and about an hour before multivitamin? Then I think it shouldn't interact with the calcium in your multiviatmin. Or you could take iron in the afternoon, an hour or 1,5 hrs before dinner? Iron is better to be taken on emtpy stomach, as it needs an acid environment for better absorption. So 2-2,5 hours after meal, and an hour before calcium, could be arranged, I think.

Thank you very much,
I was concerned about the iron on an empty stomache, (Every supplement is recommended to be taken with a meal "preferably") I was trying to take iron 1.5 hours after lunch (multivitamins), which seemed not so good with my stomache (like a snack or afternoon tea?) Once I omitted and found the stomache was full of black digesting liquid
So do you think I can take iron after supper? and I take the multis and magnesium at noon after lunch?
"After supper", you mean right after it, don't you? Iron is better to be taken on empty stomach. So maybe you could take it just before supper. Is your iron also recommended to be taken with meal? Then 10 minutes before meal would be ok; but you should have eaten nothing at all, at least 1,5 - 2 hours before this meal. I mean your stomach must have enough acid for you to absorb the iron.
Mine says "take 30 min before meal." I'm taking Floradix, which has iron in natural form & it does not accumulate in your body. What's the iron you're taking? What form is it? It's better to take one that is chelated.
By the way, what are your thyroid meds?
