High T3 level on lower dose?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Been dx w/ Hashimoto's and hypothyroidism. For yrs I tried to tolerate thyroid meds but always made me feel bad ( armour usually). Currently I'm on 100mcg t4 and 12.5 cytomel and have been feeling the best I have in a while. Took labwork -- results are as follows:

Total T4-- 10.1 (6.1-11.8)
T3 Free-- 5.6 (2.3-4.2) High
TSH -- 0.02 (0.4-4.0) Low

I didn't take T3 before bloodwork in the morning. Doesn't seem like I'm on a high dose of T3( my doctor, a women, is on double my dose). Wondering if this is dangerously high.
Pulse is between 75-83. Also I've been on this dose for 6-8 weeks so maybe things will balance over time??? If I lower cytomel i'm thinking of going down a small amount, from 12.5- 10mcg then retest. ANy suggestions, comments?

Re: High T3 level on lower dose?

My FT3 needs to be above the range but not quite by that much. I was just thinking about having my labs taken but then out of the blue I got slight HyperT symptoms (increased heart rate from my current normal 66-68 to about 74, some discomfort in my chest and bouncing like a bunny rabbit ) and decided to decrease the T4 dose a bit (from 225 to just 212,5) and that seems to have done the trick - I'll have my labs taken later. My T3 dose is also 30 mcgs but I definately have some issues with absorption and how my cells utilize these hormones.

It might be wise to decrease your T3 dose a tiny bit and see how it goes.
