is it unusual to have just isthmus removed for hurthle cell nodule

As posted eariler I had surgery 12/15/09 for a a 1.9cm hurthle cell nodule in right isthmus with a very minor extension into right loeb based on sonogram and fnb. Is it unusaul that the the isthmus was only removed. I thought a loeb and isthmus are both removed. Surgeon said that he got all of nodule. but if he could not he would of taken right loeb also. Beleive this is the best than can happen

Is it normal to get a cough after thyroid surgery with a little flem
