To get the H1N1 vaccine or not?

My office will be offering the H1N1 vaccine for free in a couple weeks and I can't decide if I want to get it or not. I've never had the flu, but due to incompetent doctors, my thyroid levels have been very low for over a year. I also have Hashimoto's.

I did get the regular flu shot and had a bad reaction and was sick for 3 days after.

Re: To get the H1N1 vaccine or not?

I'm thinking I'm not getting the vaccination. I've never got any flu shots and was an untreated "sub hypo" for 13 years. My 15 year old son was vaccinated since he's the one in our family that gets sick if someone does - my 16 year old daughter declared she's not going to get it because of the mercury and I'm not even trying to make her take it.

Re: To get the H1N1 vaccine or not?

Having recently gotten over what was most likely H1N1 I can say in hindsight that I would have grabbed the vaccine with both hands if it was available to me. But I've never had a bad reaction to any flu shots in the past, I just know that my immune system was not up to this virus and I ended up with both sinus and lung infections as a result and finally had to go on antibiotics. My recovery time took more than 3 weeks. It was seriously not fun.
