What do you think about Thyroid from Rugby Labs?

Hi, I need your opinion about medicine. What do you think about Thyroid from Rugby Labs. I found one at one small pharmacy on Old Olive rd. Now i have a dilemma...Should I change to Canadian Erfa Thyroid?

I have a store The Natural Way, tried many different brands non RX, did not work, and I think Rugby's not giving any good to me. What is your opinion?

Re: What do you think about Thyroid from Rugby Labs?

The medication you are describing is a generic levothyroxine sodium, or synthetic T4. There are a few reasons why this may not work for you; some don't do well on the generic synthetics vs the brand-names like Synthroid, many don't do well on T4-only hormone replacement because they don't convert their T4 well and need some T3 added to their meds, and others just can't seem to find a good balance on the synthetics at all.

I personally prefer the prescription desiccated thyroid preparations such as Erfa because it contains all the hormones our own thyroids produce, both T3 and T4 as well as trace hormones T1, T2 and calcitonin. Erfa is a very good product that most closely resembles the old Armour before the reformulation and it can be taken sublingually so as to prevent any problems with absorbsion in the gut.

If you continue to have problems with your hormone replacement no matter what you are using you need to consider your adrenal function, ferritin levels, and if you have high reverse T3 levels.
