compounded T3 vs Cytomel

My doctor decided that I should use T3 medicine with a gradual release instead of name brand Cytomel. I've been using Cytomel for over a year now and I'm still trying to determine the correct dose of T3 and T4 medicine for me. Is it OK to switch to the compounding version or should I stay with the name brand? Thanks for the help.

David

Re: compounded T3 vs Cytomel

Not everyone does ok with the slow release T3. You can give it a try but keep in mind that if you have more difficulties you may want go back to the Cytomel.

Re: compounded T3 vs Cytomel

Also, if price is a consideration, compounded T3 is about twice as costly as Cytomel (or as least the generic form). I haven't had any contact with anyone that swears the compounded form is that much better.
