Smile 1 month with hypothyroidism

Hey everyone! This is a mini update.

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in December 2009 and have been on 50mcg of Synthyroid for one month now. My labs came back and the doctor said the levels are normal but since I still feel fatigued that she would put me on 75mcg as a trial. I go back for blood work in a month to make sure I'm healthy and I am in the process of getting my actual lab numbers faxed to me so I can share them with you.

I have lost 4 lbs since December 27th (my diet started early haha) and I feel great! I am currently tracking my calories on an iPod app so I recommend it to all of you (It is called Lose It!)! It makes tracking food so much easier than keeping a paper journal! And with my thyroid in check I am finding it easier to go without a meal for a longer amount of time.

Re: 1 month with hypothyroidism

Glad things are going well for you. You've found that labs that are "normal" don't necessarily correspond with getting your hypo symptoms under control. Make sure you aren't left undermedicated because your doc wants your TSH to stay in "normal" range. Let us know what your labs are when you get them.
