The doctor says my thyroid levels are normal, but ever since I developed thyroid problems at the age of 13, I've had thin hair. As a child I always had thick hair. For the last 7 years I've had thin hair, and now I feel like it's getting worse. I've been to a dermatologist and that didn't do me any good. The dermo just told me to count the hairs in my brush and take biotin.
The question is, if my levels are normal, why isn't my hair normal? Should I keep questioning my endo about the hair until something is done? It's very hard being 19 years old with such crappy hair. I can't color or straighten it like other girls. It makes me very depressed.
Also does Synthyroid affect hair too? Am I going to have thin crappy hair for the rest of my life? Someone please help me.
