What are people doing for adrenal issues with hypothyroid treatment?
I have heard treat adrenals and then thyroid - however - no homeopathic remedy that I have tried has thus far worked on my adrenals... still having issues (insomnia, followed the next day with overwhelming fatigue, digestive issues, reactive hypoglycemia).
I tried adrenal cortex supplements (just one a day), but they made me more wired than anything else - not a help. I am wary of taking hydrocortisone because I read it should be a last resort, some people never get off of it, etc.
I have done a saliva test twice - first test said hypoadrenal, waiting for 2nd test results.

hi -
I took the salivary cortisol test (24 hour) as well as the AM cortisol blood test. AM cortisol showed me top of the limit. Salivary said hypo-adrenal function. I am a regular ovulator - suddenly ovulation is delayed (still hopeful that it will occur) - and I can't sleep through the night - wake up nauseous. Any other test you would recommend?
Re: What are people doing for adrenal issues with hypothyroid treatment?
I take pregnenolone. I was skeptical at first, but withing 2 weeks I really noticed a difference. No more nausea, dry heaving, or strange hormonal feelings. Hard to explain everything, but it seems to help. I also have low testosterone and pregnenolone is a pre-cursor for steroid hormones and the theory is if you are low in a hormone the pregnenolone will convert more to that hormone. Currently I take about 100 mg per day since my last pregnenolone levels had decreased.

thanks for the info! I took melatonin last night and it helped a little - - still woke up at 2A but I was at least able to get myself back to sleep somewhat quickly. I will get some Preglenone too and see if it helps. I read the info on it and am a little nervous how I will react, but I'll give it a try and see if that helps.
