| Do I or don't I kill my thyroid????
Today I had an appt. with my endocrinologist. He gave me a couple options for my treatment. We can do a testing period to supress my thyroid with 20mg Methimazole for a few months in the meanwhile checking with blood tests on the result to make sure it is my thyroid with 2 toxic nodules? causing the problem and not an adrenal insufficiency. Or, I can kill off my thyroid with radioactive iodine then he can regulate it after it goes hypo. I went with the first option and hope that i am doing the right thing.
P.S. what is a toxic nodule? I know they found them during my thyroid ultrasound but could someone explain what they are and their function is, any effects that you may have?
