Could anyone tell me what these results mean?

Hello,
I am going to see a specialist in June. My gyno gave me my results so I can take them with me to see the endo. Anyways, heres what the paper says:

Low Normal TSH 0.35

High Normal TSH 5.50
UNITS uiu/ml
-------
0.01

I have no idea what it means or if any of you will understand but thats all I have to go by.
Any replies would be appreciated!! <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif">

Hi Halstead:
If the 0.01 is your TSH it appears you may be hyperthyroid. I don't know for sure, though.

Re: Could anyone tell me what these results mean?

Hi TreeFrog,
From what the doc says that is within the normal range. I am going to see an endo to be sure. According to all the doctors I've seen for thyroid disorder my bloodwork always comes back normal.

The reason my doctor has me on synthroid is for a goiter. First he says I have a goiter, but then he said I have a nodule. He is confusing me. He felt my neck and said "oh we should start lowering your dose" the lump is gone in your neck. This is why I am going to see a specialist. Keep in mind I am also pregnant, so this has been stressful! I don't trust this doctor I am seeing right now. Not sure he knows what hes doing!

Anyways, thanks!!! <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif">

Re: Could anyone tell me what these results mean?

The normal low end of the range according to what you posted is .35, and .01 is lower than that. It isn't terribly low, but it can be hyper for you.

I see why you aren't trusting this doctor.
Pregnant, too, makes this esp. hard to deal with!

Please let us know what the new doc says!
