Off Medication for 2 + weeks now

Well, it has been almost 3 weeks since I went off Synthroid. I feel ok for the most part. My sypmtoms have not gotten worse anyway. One thing I did notice is that my scalp is not itching as much as it had been. I was going crazy it was so bad. I am having trouble getting and staying asleep, but that could be stress, a friend commited suicide Thrusday night, but these symptoms have been around longer than that. Anyway, I see the Endo on the 30th and really curious as to what he has to say. Anyone been to see Dr Doelle in Iowa City IA? My goiter has not changed in size. Thanks all!

Hi Lynda,
I am very sorry to read about your friend!!!! <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif">
You must be feeling awful about that.

I forget why you went off Synthroid...was it hair scalp problems or were you getting hyper? Synthroid is known for hair loss and scalp problems.

Let us know what the new endo has to say, and what your test results are.
BTW, be sure to take copies of your previous thyroid labs to him or mail them early.

Re: Off Medication for 2 + weeks now

I went off because the goiter keeps growing even though they have upped my synthroid level. The doc's office said they have sent the previous test results already. I am going to pick up the ultra sound a couple days a head of time.
It has been a rough couple of days, but harder on the family then on me so I am just there for them. Thanks Tree frog!
