I have been coming to the health board for about 2 months now for my preimenapause, but now my daughter has hypothyroids. I need to learn from yall what to exspect. So far she is doing good. We just started her on some meds. called Synthroid 50MCG she takes one pill a day. Yesturday was her first day on them and it did give her back her enyger(can't spell)...anyways She had no smpts. of having hypothyroids. I took her in for a normal check up and they found it. Did some blood work and a songram and found out she had it. The doctor said she isn't to bad but bad eough to be put on this meds. Does anyone know anything about this meds. and if it has any side affects? Thanks for listening and any help or advice would be great. I don't know much about this problem and would love to learn so I can help my daughter go throught this. It has her scared! Thanks, Cajun
There is no reason to be frightened of thyroid imbalance. It can take awhile to get proper treatemnt sometimes, but the medication is the thyroid hormone that is natural to the body, and the main side-effect is getting well.
Here is a thread with a lot of information:

And I suggest getting the book, The Thyroid Solution by Dr. Arem. It is full of great information for helping oneself.
