I've been on thyroid hormone for 6 months now..and i see NO change...if anything its for the worst. AM i not on a high enough dose?..or am i destined to live a life feeling sick and not a part of the living world -where people work, live and function as people should ??
I'm sorry to come here and b so negative...but how can i have hope when i see NO progress ? NONE !
i'm just so sick and so over it.....its sad <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif">
Hi Little,
I am in the same boat as you, only for me it's been 7 months, and no change at all. It is frusterating!!!!
Maybe we are just not at the right dose for us yet, or maybe we just havent started really healing yet, or maybe we need to try that additional T3. Who knows, but I know there's got to be something that will help us get better.
Patience is the word and keep in mind eventually we will get there. Its hard and I know, I am a very impatient person but with this- stressing too much wont help anything <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif">.
I am an emotional basket case, and gaining even more weight on my used-to-be-skinny body. And also knowing it will only be an even longer road ahead for me isnt helping. But (for now) all I can do is wait.
What are your numbers? What medicine are you taking? Take care hang in there....
Lori

Hi Lori and Tree frog !
Lori, i'm sorry to hear that u are still suffering...but it makes me feel better that there is someone else in the same boat...i have just posted another message with all the details of my endo visit yesterday. Are u able to work Lori ? or are u really sick and not able to function like me ? <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif">
When are u seeing your Dr next ?
Tree frog,
how are you doing on armour ?? is it agreeing with u ? do u feel better ?
Hi little,
I do feel better, as a matter of fact.
I have more energy, which leads me toi think I was not assimilating the other med as well as this one, or as Meep or Artful said, maybe it is the other components in natural thyroid that I needed, that is not in pure T4.
However, I am pooping oiut in the early evening, so I may need a higher dose than I am on. I will get retested and see my doctor in January. I can try splitting my dose during the day, but I hate to have to watch when I eat dairy or calcium foods, and I am afraid that I would forget to take one or the other altogether.
I also started on an estrogen with a little testosterone. I am not sure what that is doing.
Hi Little! <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif">
I replied to your other message as well.
Yes, I am able to work, though it really makes me poop out at night. Just simple tasks seem to drain the energy out of me. And my emotions and all this stress being completely out of control takes a toll on my relationships with co-workers/family/friends, and how my weight is now, is all so mentally draining as well as physically.
BUT like I said earlier, I know that I will be able to get through this eventually and hopefully be back to my normal self eventually. You will, too.
I really hope we both find what we need soon <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif"> We're all in this together and that is very encouraging. <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif">
Did your doctor let you try Armour? If so, how is that going for you?
Lori
PS Something off the topic, I notice you are in Australia. Once I get (any!) money I plan to visit there. I've wanted to all my life but right now the money is not there and too much other things going on in my life. (Again I say: Someday.... <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif">)
