Thank you!
My foot is in a bit less pain today.
It is depressing to be in constant pain..it makes me worthless for anything else.
Thanks for caring. TF
TreeFrog: have you tried naproxen? I have hand pain during the winter months and it helps. Not long ago it was sold only by prescription - it's sold over the counter now (for example Aleve is one product that contains naproxen.) It's an NSAID so that must be considered before using. These bothers some people. My Best to you. BG
Aspirin taken with Motrin won't work for pain or do they just mean it won't work to protect the heart by thinning the blood? People alternate them for pain throughout the day so I don't understand with absolute clarity what the news article was saying.
I assume not useable, means for anything one ordinarily takes aspirin for. It seems that they meant something in Motrin affects aspirin so it is not useable IF taken together.
One could still take them alternately, throughout the day.
Treefrog, I'm so glad to hear you're feeling better! <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/dance.gif">
I just found an article posted 19Dec01 on MSNBC.com about aspirin with ibuprofen (motrin, advil, etc.). Apparently, the blood-thinning effects of aspirin (good for heart patients) are 98% ineffective when you combine the two. Kinda strange findings, since both of these drugs have blood thinning properties. Not to mention they're both hard on the stomach, so I can only imagine what kind of a tummy ache a combination might produce.
