Thick tongue

Anyone else wake up with a huge thick tongue, that has teeth marks in it....I have read somewhere that soft tissue thickening is part of severe thyroid problems....But just wanted to confirm, as I am fast losing faith in the medical profession...
Thanks Sandy

Re: Thick tongue

Changes in the tongue often are from stress, and it may really help if you begin taking B complex vitamins.
Preferably by taking brewer's yeast (very rich in balanced B).
I can handle the taste by taking it in orange juice...but take it at least an hour or more after thyroid med.

I have been under a lot of stress lately!!!!!! What with hubby changing jobs, and perhaps working for my Dad!!! which may be a whole new ball game!!!! I am under stress LOL, plus I have all these strange symptoms starting like boils, etc and can't get an answer from Endo!!!!! Thanks Tree Frog!!! for your help, without it I may just sit and scream and feel

Re: Thick tongue

Get some brewer's yeast from a health food store, building up slowly from one teasoon a day (it could make you feel gaseous at first), and see how fast your nerves heal, and that may help your boils too!
Stress exacerbates skin weaknesses.

All of us are deficient in B vitamins and the nerves get way over-stressed without the B's.

Everything I learned I learned from exerience, so I am just sharing what has worked for me, and many others I shared it with. I hope it helps!
[This message has been edited by Tree Frog (edited 09-03-2001).]

Re: Thick tongue

Maybe you should check that it's not angiodema (often linked with urticaria/hives - i have both - lucky me!!!).

It can cause your throat to swell also which can be dangerous & you would need an adrenaline shot at A&E.
