Holidays

Hi everyone <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif">
Holidays can be so incredibly stressfull and busy for most people. With some of us that dont have much energy it can be almost impossible.
I just want to say take it easy, dont overdue it, and if you are stressed just stop, take a deeeeeep breath, and try to think of the positive, what are the holidays really about- family, love, etc. Maybe take on smaller tasks if possible and prioritize.
I am going to try to follow my own advice *laugh* <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wink.gif"> How do you all deal with the stresses of holidays?
Hope everyone has a wonderfull holiday season and dont forget to include your pets in the festivities! <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif">

Re: Holidays

Lori: Thanks for your kind words. And happy holidays to you and everyone else here on the thyroid board from me too. About stress: "It ain't worth putting up your umbrella til it rains." These are words I try to live by to avoid unnecessary worry and stress but I admit I can't always.

Re: Holidays

Someone gave me the definition of worry:
Paying interest on a loan you haven't even applied for..."

I thought it was pretty good definition. Probably doesn't help anyone much, but it does make you stop and think for a minute, before you begin to lunch on your nails!

Re: Holidays

Don't worry, be happy.
Happiness is a state of mind.

I will check in this Sunday, then I will be back after Christmas.

Happy Holidays everyone, and have a blessed Christmas, if you celebrate it <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/bang.gif"> <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wave.gif">

Re: Holidays

I like this one ... "Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow; it empties today of its joy" (anonymous) ... I just keep trying to tell myself that it's only a few days of family gatherings and ridiculousness. (I'm not much into this commercialism.) My gifts really shouldn't matter ... I don't care what anyone gets me ... that's not my style. What I'm going to wear is a bit more stressful but I'm sure I'll find something! Who knows what size I am anymore! LOL.
Take care, Everyone. Enjoy. I can't wait to have some 'treats' and good food! (It's only one day so I'm allowed!)
