It doesn't hurt to get tested for Hashi's, the most common cause of hypothyroidism. Now, the antibody test does not definitively confirm Hashi's but, a result in the thousands is an indication of Hashi's.
Knowing you have Hashi's means that you can expect your thyroid function to diminish over time. And, there might be some times that, as the thyroid dies off from the antibody attack, that it "throws off" thyroid hormones which could cause hyper symptoms (and levels).
Whether your hypothyroidism is caused by Hashi's or not does not change the treatment which, in your case, is levothyroxine.
