No energy

Been on 50mcg levothyroxine for17 days now, well the past 2 days I began to feel more energy and thought this is it im slowly coming back to normal, however that was short lived as today well I have crashed, feel so tired and no energy. Also the past few days I seem to go to bed about 10ish and can't get to sleep for hours last night it was about 2.30 is this normal when starting thyroxine ? . X

Re: No energy

During the first 6 months of thyroid treatment, be prepared for anything. There is no "normal" to starting thyroxine. It varies person to person.

You should not be expecting day-to-day improvement. Start thinking in terms of 6-8 week improvement. You won't wake up one day thinking "Yay! That symptom is gone for good." You will only gradually be aware that something is gone for good.

You may have heard it here before, but it bears repeating. Thyroid treatment doesn't work as a cure for hypoT in the same way aspirin fixes a headache. It takes months. Six months is a common time frame in which to feel complete relief. For many people, it can take as much as a year. Sammy says she's in month 15.
All I can tell you is to be patient and settle in for a bumpy ride.
