I agree with acilim.
Do you have Hashimoto's? Thyroid inflammation increases in tandem with activation and presence of antibodies. The higher your antibody count the harder your thyroid gets hammered and the more inflammed it gets as a result.
If you have never had a thyroid antibody panel run insist on it.
The test codes are TPOAb, TGAb, TSI, TRAb.
I have nodules that are monitored as well. We set up yearly US appointment now that things have stabilized, but the MD ALWAYS stipulates that if symptoms from said nasty thyroid increase or magnify to come in and get evaluated early.
Nodule growth and activity is not a predictable thing. You can be stable for years and then in the matter of a month grow a whole new thyroid. My mom can attest to that one. They removed half of hers and ten years later it was back bigger and nastier than ever.
