I was diagnosed with low thyroid several years ago and was prescribed Levoxly 75 mcg by my doctor. I am seeing a new Dr. now, at a VA Hospital, not by choice but need to as I have no health insurance. A blood test taken in April 2011 showed my TSH, 3rd Generation was 2.15 and T4, Free was 1.5. The VA Dr had me do another blood test about 2 weeks ago and then called to say that my thyroid was low, did not give me any numbers but I will get that next week. She prescribed Synthroid 0.05MG. It seems a little strange to me that if the lood work showed the levels were low, why she would prescibe a lower dose of the meds. I didn't have the time to ask her why it was a lower dosage, but I will see her next week and find that out. Any ideas why she would lower the dosage???
